ABO Capital CEO shares his insight on high quality education
New York, NY, August 22, 2016 – ABO Capital, a leading international investment firm headquartered in Angola, announced today that its CEO, Zandre Campos, was featured in U.S. News and World Report for his insight on high quality education, which he believes to be the key to overcoming Africa’s economic challenges. The article entitled “The Foundation of Africa’s Future” was originally published on U.S. News and World Report on August 16.
Mr. Campos discusses how Africa has seen growth over the years and there is potential for it to continue to grow into a competitive and effective player in international relations and the world economy. He notes that in order to do that, Africa needs to focus on improving its education system. The continent needs more schools, trained teachers and investment. Mr. Campos believes participation by the private sector and strengthened public/private partnerships would assist governments and bolster public sector funds to finance Africa’s public education system.
“Africa needs to find solutions that are directly connected to the needs of individual countries and to the continent as a whole,” said Mr. Campos. “What has been tried in the past, particularly traditions begun under colonial regimes, won’t work in the future. The education system should emphasize the STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering and math) and be geared to finding solutions to Africa’s challenges.”
Zandre Campos is the chairman and CEO of ABO Capital, a leading international investment firm in Angola. ABO Capital invests in companies in the energy, transportation, hospitality, healthcare, technology and real estate sectors.
